I'm looking for alternatives to Starbucks (the Green Meanie) for a good coffee house experience. I actually really appreciate Starbucks for creating a new space socially and making good coffee readily accessible--if it weren't for Starbucks, good coffee would be hard to come by where I live (Dallas-Fort Worth). But is wanting a little variety (and maybe free wi-fi and fresh baked goods) to much to ask for?
I realize that in many cities, Starbucks is only one among many coffee shop offerings, but as I tell friends here, hating Starbucks vs other coffee shops is actually a luxury because that implies other options. Finding alternatives to Starbucks aren't as easy to find as you might think--a recent Google search listed coffee shops in my area, and in four surrounding suburbs, the only coffee shops listed were Starbucks.
On this site you'll find the Green Meanie alternatives I come across, but I'm really hoping that other readers will contribute their finds. If you'll send me some of the basic info (see one of the posts for an example of the kinds of info to include), I'd be happy to post your review to this site.
